I picked up a Velodyne DPS-12 up here in Canada at Futureshop for $429 CDN. Not too bad of a price. I was originally going to pick up a 10 inch, but at that price I jumped on it.
So far, it sounds AWESOME!! I wasn't expecting much, but I am quite impressed for the price. It really seems to pack a punch.
I think Sheep has one of these.
Anyways, a couple questions:
I set the crossover on my Yamaha RXV2500 at 80Hz and the SWFR Phase at normal. I also switched my mains and rears to "small". Are these the ideal settings?

I'm no expert but it sounds like a good (and the usually recommended) setting.
The 80Hz crossover will depend on your main speakers, from what I undertsand if they are tiny you may want to raise that a bit but for good bookshelf or bigger mains 80Hz should do fine.

Have you set the DPS-12 lowpass crossover to the direct setting?

I picked up a DPS-12 myself this week and while I haven't put it through its paces yet I'm with ya on the quite impressed. :) It definitely shakes my 2300 cu.ft. listening area (when its supposed too) and easily outperforms my Klipsch KSW-10, as it should. I'll also try hooking them up at the same time.
