Hi All,
My first post here. I have a Yamaha 90w 5.1 receiver with Def Tech Bp10+ mains, BPX surrounds and their C/L/R 2500 for Center.
When I play CDs, if I crank it up, the sound seems to get to to ear-shattering concert levels. Also I have an SPL meter, but I have not actually tested this stat. When I play concerts I've taped (DVR) from my Dish Network satellite provider, I can crank my receiver's volume to it's limit, and, while the sound is loud, it is still tolerable. I actually came to this realization when I wanted to increase the volume, but discovered the volume was already as high as it would go.
Unless I am wrong, it is my understanding, as the comparison I described above seems to illustrate, a direct CD source will play much louder that the source of my satellite TV provider.
Assuming my assumption is correct, is there a way to boost the volume for my satellite TV? I contacted Dish Network and they said there is no way to do this.
Thanks all for your input.
