Hello all ----- noob alert,
I am in the process of a full remodel and am upgrading for whole house A/V distribution.
I am trying to design with maximum flexibility in mind, so I am running conduit for most all locations. Now I am at the point where I need to make some speaker wiring decisions which will not be in conduit. To detail the situation.
I have a 7.1 setup in the TV/Living area which I would like to allow for equipment placement in two different locations. The first being the "TV wall", the other an equipment closet.
The second situation is in the master bed with a 5.1 system. I have a similar situation as the 7.1 system, difference being I would like to use 2 of the speakers for whole house audio distribution as well, which now puts the potential source locations at 3. This would mean two live sources as opposed to the 7.1 system where there would be only one live source.
So I guess what it comes down to, will I need to run a set of wires from each speaker to each source location, or is there someway to switch via IR so I can reduce my wiring requirements?
