using second receiver as pre-amp?

I recently picked up the Yamaha RX-V573, so now i have my old receiver (marantz sr4001) sitting in a box wasting space.
I also just ordered the Behringer DCX2496, I currently have Polk monitor 70's and matching center channel as well as diy JL13W1 in a ported enclosure powered using behringer ep2500.

Could I use one of the receivers like a pre-amp?
receiver 1 ====>DCX2496 ====>receiver 2

None that I can see.

Your Marantz has preamp outputs so yes it can be used as a preamp, however, to use it as a preamp you will need external amplification.

I don't quite understand the use of the DCX2496.

Do you simply want to use it as a powered 2nd zone?
