Using pro audio amplifiers in home theater.

Is there any reason this wouldn't work? I understand some of these amps have active cooling via a fan but it really seems like a good bang for your buck. You can find a 2ch amp that's rated for 200wpc rms at 8 ohms both channels driven for under $300.

While there can be some issues depending on specific pro amp, I've been very pleased with the Crown XLS Drivecore series, generally very consumer audio friendly; very quiet fans, good feature set and nice price!

At any price point, pro amplifiers are probably a better value than audiophile market amplifiers.

I replaced a high end amplifier with CrownXLS to drive Sound Lab Electrostatic speakers. No regrets.
