Hi,
I have been scraching my head over the following setup, trying to figure out whether I can record TV on my PC without running a cable connection from one room to another:
Room 1 (Office) has the following:
* PC with TV Tuner and Windows MediaCenter
* In wall Cat5e / ethernet connection (the house has structural wiring)
Room 2 (Family Room) has the following:
* HDTV
* MediCenter Extender (HP MediaSmart Connect) [conneted to HDTV on one end, and PC on the other end, via the network cables running through the walls of the house]
* In Wall Cat5e connection
* Cable TV connection
With this setup, I can view anything on the hardrive of my PC in Room 1, on my HDTV in Room 2, using the MediaCenter Extender.
However, I'm trying to figure out if I can record TV shows onto my PC, without having to get a cable connetion in Room 1.
Any ideas?
