Using InterMetro Shelving?

Has anyone here used Metro or InterMetro shelving for an entertainment center? The Container Store is having a sale at the moment. I've used them for server racks at my old job, but I wonder if there are any issues with using them for home theater components: acoustic, electric, or other?

I've looked at regular TV stands and such, but I want something that's customizable and cool looking. I would probably go with the three foot posts and 18" x 54" shelves, preferably in black. I'd use three shelves, from top to bottom:
  • solid or wire - Panasonic Viera 46" TV, bookshelf speakers
  • wire - center speaker, game consoles
  • wire - Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K, TiVo HD XL

I'm also considering less wide shelves, with small wing shelves for the side speakers. Does anyone have any experience to share?

Not electrical, acoustic or whatever, but the feet on a component will drop through the holes, so it's hard to turn the equipment around to access the back. Since it won't easily slide as it would on a regular shelf, you have to physically lift and turn the gear. If you're like me and stack several pieces on top of each other, it could all be a bit heavy to maneuver.
