Using Home Theatre for Whole House sound

I have a samsung home theatre that I also use for whole house sound. Three separate zones with mixer unit to boost the signal. Everything works fine, but I have to set the player to STEREO for the sound around the house. I use the front channel on the theater system and disconnect the others. Is there anyway to get better sound by patching the front and rear or center speakers to the feed to the whole house sound? I miss the base.

Ken,
I am not sure how your mixer is setup but the samsung HTIB is not designed to drive more than 1 speaker per amp channel. I would recommend a more powerful amp like a behringer A500 ($180) with impedance matching VCs in each room. Connect the amp to a line level output (Tape out, Zone 2 out, etc.) from the HT receiver or the Samsung HTIB. With this setup you will have more power and better quality amplification.

Keep in mind however, that you won't get the same bass from 5-6" inceiling speakers as you do from a HT system with bookshelf speakers and a seperate subwoofer.
