Using a surge protector with a UPC

How would you hook the two up together. Would I just plug everything into the surge protector and then plug the main power cord for the surge protector into the UPC?

Do you mean UPS, not UPC? If so you don't need the surge protector, they are of limited value anyway. UPS is the way to go and that will be all you need.
