Used Speakers under $500?

Okay, so I want to be a good guy this year and give a gift that some one actually wants. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a decent set of 5.1 speakers for less than $500? I know personally I wouldn't dare touching a box set for myself at that price so I'm wondering if I can find anything in that price range on the used market. Suggestions?

Now just add a $40 subwoofer and you have a 5.1 set for under $500. :)

Check out the HSU Research web site. They have a 5.1 set with one of their excellent subs for $500. I have heard a number of raving reviews about the system ("you won't believe that it's only $500" reviews). From what I have read, the left and right front and rears are small but the center speaker can handle lower midranges better than the small corner units and the overall effect has more weight than most small systems. I have one of their subs and can vouch for their excellence.
