Greetings -
Calling from Johannesburg South Africa. A few days ago
I purchased a Denon G-05 "Cellena" mini system from a second-hand store here in Johannesburg. I just couldn't resist the look of the system; but realised that it obviously came from the USA because it was being run off a 220v/110v transformer.
I took the unit to a fairly good audio store at a major Mall
here in Jhb, and they ran the unit for me using a pair of
Polk speakers (the entry level set and the pair above that)
and the sound was certainly not unpleasing.
What I would really like to know, if possible, from the forum
is:
1. Was it an 'OK' move to buy the unit ... ?
(cassettes/CD/tuner all working well thank
goodness)
2. Do you think the price was about right. It was
R1500.00 (South African Rands) (about $180.00)
3. In the 'grand order' of mini systems over the
past 10 years or so .. does the Denon G-05
rate reasonably enough ..?
With many thanks in advance ..
