Use a Laptop as an External Hard Drive? (solved)

I bought another Laptop with more RAM today. I have a male-male USB cable. Can I use that to transfer files old laptop to new laptop?

Or... if they are both connected to the same wifi, would that work? Or connected via ethernet cable? The new laptop also has a USB-C port.

Transferring files with an 8 g USB drive. It's fine.
