It has become apparent to me, along with the help of many members(thanks), that a UPS is just flat-out needed with the technology of equipment in our AV systems.

My research has concluded that Cyperpower offers the highest joule rating, best warranty, best value, US based customer service, and one of the highest equipment coverages of any company out there.

This research is based on Smart Sinewave UPS systems with 1000-3000VA rating

NOTE:
1500-2000VA requires 20 amp wall outlet.
3000VA requires 30 amp wall outlet.

What I decided to use:
http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/products/ups-systems/browse-by-category/smart-app-ups/pp-series/PR2200LCDRT2U.html

It has a much higher joule rating than the for-mentioned Tripp Lite 2600, and higher coverage.

It has a lower wattage rating, but I am hoping that I will be covered due to the fact I doubt I will ever be using the 1680Watt rating on the back of my amp.

I can cancel my order by Monday if anyone thinks it's not the best option. I have a total of 2977Watts, but everything will not be on at the same time.

I found my best authorized deal at PCNation.

Contacted the manufacturer today.

They said if I pull more than the 1600W this unit can handle, I would be deaf.

I doubt that, but at least I know they know what kind of equipment I will be connecting to it.

So, it looks like I have a lifetime $400,000 equipment insurance policy.:D

Nice sounds liks you will be set. Now spike the main line and blow it all up and you got 400,000. You can get a hell of a system and a house to put it in brother...:D

Killer unit!

Got unit hooked-up. This thing is cool.

It displays it's input volts, and it's steady output volts.

It displays the load on the unit. As I crank it up, I watch the load increase. I got my amps clip indicators to light-up, and the unit was at about 75% load capacity. So it is certainly going to work for me.:D

It displays how long it will run on it's internal battery power at the level in which it is being used. It is holding steady at 34.5+/- minutes. Of coarse I would cut the system off if I was at home and had a power issue.

The cool thing is that when I am not home, and the power cuts on and off, it will not affect my system.

Very pleased with my experience with PCNation, and this product.

PICTURES?

I'm using a few APC SmartUPS. I got two 1,000KVA's and one 750KVA unit. Best money I ever spent. I might just change to a 220V unit instead of multiple units in the future. My projector and system runs flawlessly with the UPS's. Every once in awhile I hear the UPS's make a beap that they are picking up the load or trimming the power. Otherwise you'd never know they were working.

I second APC. First class service, and their refurbs are fantastic value for money. I have four of them here, and they are excellent. I recently installed another on a friends system. I would go with APC refurbs.

This reminds me of that nasty thread I had two months ago.

This is still a classic photo.
Classic

This photo was used to argue they are unsafe. Funny thing is that you can see a roll of paper towels and a piece of paper next to it.

I know it's off topic, but do make sure you put UPS's in safe location preferably away from anything easily flamable like papers. Wood is ok unless it's dense.
