I got my upgraditis shot for the season but I guess it's not working. My room size is 12x18 and I listen to 50%music/50%movies. If I upgrade to the SVS, would I hear or feel that much difference? Is it even worth the hassle? I think the more expensive SVS would be overkill for my room. Thanks.

1. There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to bass!:p (IMHO)

2. There is no comparision between those 2 subs, the SVS will make a night and day difference.

I'd be willing to bet that you'd see a tremendous improvment. From what I've read, the Klipsch subs are a bit weak.

Citronbull,

Make sure you have the current unit optimized before upgrading.

Have you experimented with different placement options and calibrated the entire system with a SPL meter yet? Every room is different, but corners tend to work well(for sub placement)---especially corners near the key seating locations. I would set all speakers to small in the receiver setup menu too. Also, please feel free to fax me a room layout. If you include the current speaker locations, the seating locations and any openings into the room---that would be great. My fax is (330)793-8183.

Citronbull,

is that the rsw-12 (Klipsch reference series)? I've helped a friend installed that same sub in his big room (18 X 30 X 9). The sub isn't that bad. I measured it ~25hz. I'd recommend to measure ur sub (like what Tom said), calibrate it, and definitely get the BFD to eq ur sub ( you will be amaze how the lil BFD can help tame ur peeks and valleys). This route will save you some money. After all these and you still not satisfy... then i guess... upgrade it... Good luck...

I <3 SVS. :)

Talk about non customer service!

I agree, try to squeeze as much out of your RW-12 as you can before giving up. You can strap it to your head and get GREAT bass response, with some negatives ;)

Al,
The RSW-12 is a different beast from the RW-12. It also costs almost twice as much (has 2 12inch drivers). If I had the RSW-12, I think I would be happy with it especially with my room size.
