For past 12/15 yrs I have been using the Yamaha DSP-A780 as an audio only amp. Thought it was the bees knees. Now I'm reading about all the modern goodies and getting restless. If I upgrade will I actually hear the difference if I pay out , say, 750euros - approx £600/800? Am researching Receiver Amps and preferably in the Yamaha range. My 4 existing speakers (which I'd rather not change as they lie flat to the wall and cabled beatifully!) are the older Jamo range -- a Jamo Centre 100 as centre and the Yamaha (active subwoofer model) YST-SW80 for bass. My speakers are all rated 80/100 watts - the rears around 60/80 watts. All are 8 ohms. Now I feel like I'd like to upgrade (as near as possible) to the following : 5.1 surround / FM Digital Radio / Dolby Pro Logic 11x / THX select 11 or similar / YPAO / DSP / Dialogue Lift (see Yamaha RX-V757B for this clever feature - if it really works!). I think thats all my requirements. (Oh yes - the lovely one with long hair screaches " MUST BE IN BLACK" !!) Audio only if possible - I don't want any video inputs - already routed via hdmi cable to my Panasonic projector. Many thanks and in hope!
