Newbie here. Like several other people I'm updating an older system. Would like some advice if possible. Info...room is a loft space with a large cased opening to a hallway on the left side and and 3' wide cased opening to a bath on the left side. Size is 17x12x9' ceiling...primary seating is about 14' from the LCR speakers and 15' from the wall mounted TV. i.e. not a typical 4 wall room with a door. The plan....a 7.2.2 atmos system used about 50/50 for music/movies. Electronics...Pre pro....Marantz AV7702MKii (purchased) .................LCR amps...3 Outlaw Audio 2200 mono blocks (purchased) .................Surround/rear/atmos amp...Outlaw Audio 7140 (not purchased) I haven't bought this amp yet and have started to think I could get similar results for movies with a lessor amp for the surrounds...the Emotiva A-700 is about half the price? Is the 7140 overkill for that application? Thanks for your thoughts.
