Upgrading equipment, need advice

Hi,

I am thinking of buying the Sony KDSR60XBR1 60" WEGA™ HDTV to replace my 11 year old Mitsubish 50" bigscreen. The inputs/outputs on this TV are:

1 x PC input - rear
1 x PC audio input - rear
1 x Memory Stick media slot
1 x CableCARD slot
1 x HDMI connector - rear (Another site states it has 2 x HDMI connectors)
3 x i.LINK® interface - 1 front/2 rear
2 x component video inputs - rear
3 x S-video input - 1 front/2 rear
3 x composite video inputs - 1 front/2 rear
2 x RF connection inputs - rear
6 x audio inputs - 1 front/5 rear
1 x digital audio output - rear
1 x analog audio output - rear
1 x control-s input - rear
1 x control-s output - rear

I will probably be connecting this to a DirecTV HD DVR to get HD service and an antennae to get local HD stations.

My old receiver is a Yamaha RX-V992 which does not have digital video inputs as far as I know. I can't really see behind it to be sure but I think it is too old.

My DVD player is a Toshiba SD 2109 and is also pretty old.

My question is for this TV, what would be the best way to connect a receiver, HD Satellite and a DVD to take advantage of the best features to get the best picture and keep the wiring clean. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to upgrade all my old stuff to take advantage of this and that's ok as my main concern it to get the best possible picture. If I have to upgrade my Receiver and DVD, what are some popular moderate priced ones that would support the recommended connections.

Thanks for your help.
