Upgrade my dual 10s for a 13?

SVS just came out with their 13” sub and I have 6 days to either trade in my dual 10s (PB 1000) for it, or stick with what I have and possibly buy a third down the road?

What are the dimensions of the room? Or volume in cu ft. Is this a house where you can be loud or is this an apartment? Can you trade up to any SVS model?

I would go for the 13" if you can add another one in the future. But if you are stuck with only a single sub for the forseeable future if you go with the 13", I would stick with the 10"s.

Dual subs is the way to go but SVS also makes 12in subs too.

I am 9 days past my 45 day trial but they would extend it if I would want to go with the new PB 3000. Because of the price this would be my only subwoofer for quite some time. The room is about 3000 cu. ft. It is not a perfect rectangle/square, there is a L-shape to the room.

Or what about adding an additional 10 and have 3 instead of one 13?

I would go two 10s over the one 13. More so if you're not planning on adding another sub soon. Ask SVS what they think too. I had the same dilemma. They recommended 2 subs over one, even when skipping the next size up.

It might be worth asking if instead of the 3000 series, if you can trade up into the more affordable 2000 series. You probably want to end up with dual 2000 subs. Doesn’t hurt to ask.

I agree with Snakeyes. Unless your room is just gigantic it would probably be better to trade up to dual PB 2000's versus one 13 ultra. My room is huge and I started with the PB 2000's loved them. If my room was smaller I never would have traded them up the PB 2000's were a fantastic subwoofer

I would ask if you can upgrade to dual 2000s. the jump from the 1000 series to the 2000 series is relatively significant and you will also be able to keep an even response throughout the room much better than if you went with one 3000. That also gives you the option to upgrade to the 3000 next year.
