Upgrade Klipsch to Mordaunt-Short (or others)

I may have a buyer for the speakers listed in my signature (I'm keeping the Velodyne) and have wanted to upgrade for some time now. Before I start driving some place far away to listen to the Mordaunt-Short Avant Series, does anyone know if these will clearly be a step up from the Klipsch?

Suggestions other than the Mordaunt-Shorts will be appreciated, but black speakers are out...my significant other approves of pretty much whatever I want to set up, but would like something that has a beautiful wood finish. That really isn't too hard to accomplish and I’m certainly willing to comply considering her accommodating manner. ;)

My budget is $2,000 or less for a 6.1 setup (one back surround speaker). I know that isn't a lot of money in today's world, but it should get me something pretty decent. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hello
The MS are very high bang for the buck spaeakers
You may want to consider

RBH www.rbhsound.com and
Axiom www.axiomaudio.com

Both of these are very high bang for the buck as well
I am currently in he middle of an Axiom review and was totaly shocked
with the build quality and internal constrution on the Axiom :)

Thanks for the reply! Axiom veneer/finish??

I will have a look at the Axioms again, as well as the RBHs.

I know there are a lot of Axiom fans around here, so I post a question not to start a war, but to get some opinions. I read somewhere on the web that the Axioms 'finish/veneer' was a bit low quality. It would be great if I could get an opinion or two from some Axiom users.

Thanks!

Unless you opt for a special finish, the normal Axiom finish is very well done vinyl. Most people say that it looks very nice and has no visible seams, but it's still vinyl.

Thanks to all for the replies...I love this forum! I'll look into the special finishes just for the heck of it...and I'm definately not buying for at least a few months. I'm taking my time on this purchase
