Upgrade from Yahmaha RX-V2095 to ?

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and I would like to ask the members a question.

I am looking to upgrade my home system, I now have the Yamaha RX-V2095 5.1 with front surround, is the new systems (7.1) the same or different?

Is there a new Receiver that hat has the same speaker setup?

I was also looking at the Yamaha RX-V2600 or the Denon AVR-3806 Receiver.

Any suggestions?

By front surrounds do you mean speakers on the sides of the listening postition, or "Presence Channels" on the front soundstage next to the mains.

The new Yamaha's including the RX-V2600 will allow you to run 7.1 or 5.1 with 2 presence speakers. If you need HDMI switching, the 2600 is a great option. If you don't need HDMI, check out the 2500 for about $700.
