I presently have an Onkyo nr-807 and Martin Logan montages for fronts and encores for the other front 3. I'm presently looking at purchasing a B&K AV5000 to amplify the front speakers and to either purchase MLT-1s for surrounds or maybe just 2 more encores. However I'm really not to satisfied with the ML's. I had Polk audio RT100i's before and really miss the presence in the room, I think the ML's sound to layed back. Am looking to either improve the sound and presence off the ML's or upgrade my speakers. Do you think that the addition of the separate amp will improve the dynamics of the speakers. Or am I better off upgrading. I prefer my music and movies on the loud side. The room is quite large 20x16 with one narrow side open to stairs and a hallway. The room is all hard wood floors. Was wondering if maybe decoupling the mosaics on a piece of tile on spikes might be a solution we do have a throw rug but its only 10x12 so it doesn't really cover the whole floor. Any ideas????
