Updates from Week 8, project entering final stages

This last week saw much of the major work on this initial phase of the room being finished. So this week, I broke out my movie posters and frames and mounted them up. My ROTJ poster got damaged in the move, I didn't notice it until putting it up on the wall. I guess I'll hit allposters.com and order a replacement. Since they aren't 1st edition one sheets I wasn't too upset. However, my theatrical one sheet of Dune made the trip intact, probably because I moved that one myself!

I replaced some Monster subwoofer cable with some shorter lengths from Dayton Audio. And as you expect, the audio quality immediately tanked once I disconnected the Monster cable! <--(Joke, for those that don't know me any better!) I finshed up with some wire bundling to make the back of the A/V rack nice and neat.

I also finished color calibrating the projector. I tried to take some pics of everything, however my digital camera had trouble in some of the lower light shots.

The in-wall cable sounds fantastic, can't wait to get the surrounds up. Would have done that this week, however had to call in a plumber ($$$-Ouch) in to work on an expansion tank in our boiler system, so that took priority this weekend.

Here are some pics to show the latest progress.

Seriously, I have no life.
I noticed you have a roll up box on the wall?
You seem to have nice paneling on the walls? Why not build an enclosure for that roll up screen, blends right into the wall paneling.:D

Hey, that's a good idea. I'm going to start looking into it. Will I need to get a powered screen now? Or can I still use my Da-lite screen?

You build it to what you have. In a manual screen you'd just have to build it so you can get to the pull ring on the screen with something that you could also fabricate.

We can go into it further by PM.
