Hello, I have a question about AV Receivers. I have a Denon x-3600h and have a setup of 7.1 The Receiver only have 105 watts per/channel. And I am looking to change it for a more powerful, or more watts per channel.
I am considering the Denon x-4700h that has 125 watts, but would like to hear from you what you think.
Thanks

Not worth it if you're basing your decision on wattage alone. What speakers do you have? If your speakers are that hardcore then an AVR won't be enough regardless.

Yeah it wouldn't be worth it, if anything take the money and get a center channel that matches your fronts or a 2nd subwoofer.

I thought my center channel was good. I know is not a mach to my Klipsch's, but is the best center channel Def. Tech. has, $1,500.00
But besides, would you recommend getting the same subwoofer for the second one?
And you don't recommend changing the AV Receiver for a better one.

Your center channel is fine but you typically want to match your front speakers with the center by series/model first and if that's not possible then at least the same brand. Most brands have their own sound so if you start mixing and matching speakers the sound is thrown off, you wouldn't get mismatched front speakers would you? Same concept applies for the center channel and other speakers in the setup. You don't need the best center channel, you need one that matches your speakers so probably the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-400C for $250 or the 600C...up to you.

Mismatched subs are a little more forgiving but unless you know what you're doing sticking with the same model/brand is preferred. No, your current AVR is plenty.

You have an avr with pre-outs, if you want a more powerful amp it's easy to add an external one without changing avr.....and just going from 105 to 125 wpc is not even 1dB difference in spl and wouldn't recommend a change for such a small difference (it takes a doubling of power to gain merely 3dB spl). Why do you think power is lacking? You're running into issues at your desired listening levels?

You can use an spl calculator like this to estimate your power needs. Klipsch overstates their sensitivity figures as they use an in-room "equivalent" (Audioholics' review of the RP8000 yielded a sensitivity measurement of 92.1 dB for example). Still, relatively sensitive so depends on your desired spl levels and your distance from the speakers....
