Hi everyone,

I am in need of suggestions for a fairly good universal remote control
that can handle 4 other remotes (tv, satellite receiver, dvd player and audio receiver). I am looking for something in the range of $60-$100.

Any suggestions will be appreciated very much.

thanks,

BullyDogg :)

Universal Remote Company (URC) makes several that will work for this. The models have MX-xxx numbers and are fairly easy to program. You would need to go through the process, select the brands of devices and the codes are already stored in the memory.

I'm on a crusade against Harmony because of their lack of dealer support and communication.

For under $100, the URC RF-20 would be the best bet. The RF-20 is a slightly feature reduced version of the MX-350 (which I use) but the RF basestation is included in the price instead of requiring a separate purchase.

RFS200 -PowerPak Bundle

On the recent recommendation of another Audioholic member, Jostenmeat, I purchased the RF20 power pack for $81.43 from Amazon.com

Not only is a great universal remote. It converts up to six devices to RF control (you can close the doors , not longer need line of site IR). The control has pre-programmed modes and also learning mode and macros. Very easy to setup and use.

This is a great system!

Good luck!

The RF models were actually the ones I was thinking of but I posted MX, anyway. For a system with more components, the MX are the ones that work and RF capability can be added to some of them.

MC2, I think I forgot to tell you, and it can be gleaned very easily from AV boards after a quick search, but just in case:

If you volume only works one click at a time, when you program it, hold down original remote's button when programming. Voila.
