universal outputting DTS 96/24?

I have a Pioneer 588A universal player. And while it does have the DTS logo on the front, it doesn't have the DTS 96/24 logo. Does that mean that if I were to select the DTS 96/24 portion of a disc and use the 5.1 analog audio outputs to my receiver, the 96/24 would be downsampled (or whatever the term ought to be) to something else? Thanks for any help!

cheers,

I'm pretty sure that is the case. IT will play, but it will be at whatever rate your player is capable of.
