What in the world is up with all the underlined words, and when you pass over them with your mouse a pop-up screen appears.

That is annoying. I use Adblock to remove most of the ads. Guess I'll have to find something to disable these new pop up things with as well....

They are intellitxt links from one of our affiliates. We had these enabled on the old site and forums as well and just recently got them back online on the site and forums. They help pay the bills to keep our great services to you FREE of charge :D

They may be annoying but I think I might be able to deal if the site stays free ;)

I truly hate them.

When advertising infiltrates the actual content of user-generated posts, something is very wrong IMO.

I hate them too, but they were there previously, so I don't get why people are just noticing them now?

Nothing is free. Somebody always pays.

It's a necessary evil that generates the $$ to pay for this site and, since visiting/posting here doesn't cost us a penny, I think we can live with them, don't you?

Well, I'm still here, but I'm on a dozen or more popular forum sites. This is the only one that inserts advertising into the user-generated content. I really resent it. I'd rather get a popup ad with every page than see ads inserted into the content I contribute.

That's funny because about 75% of the other forums I'm on use them also; and almost every one of them has at least tried them out, some dropped it). It is mainly the smaller, basically private, manufacturer related ones that tend not to.

I don't care for them, but you don't have to keep the mouse on the ad do you? You can just click off of it, it hurts nothing. I pays the bills as has been said.

There are much more annoying forums than the likes of this one. If you don't pay for an email service you can't even join many other forums, that is frustrating. (a lot more than little links in text)

Adblock kills the intellitext ads too.
