Has anyone gotten ahold of these yet? I am looking to do seperates and I would like to know a little more about this from someone who has it or has gotten to demo it. Ive locked in my speakers (studio 100's/CC-690?ADp-590/Servo15) and want to get the most info I can. I am looking at the MCA50v from Anthem and just wanna cover all my bases. Which by the way does anyone know the current retail price for the Anthem? It looks to be a nice piece of machinery, obviously not the D2 but still nice.

The UMC has not been released yet. Word now is July before it becomes available. Nice choice in speakers. I have 100's myself.

I assume that you are talking about the AVM50v "Pre Amp" and not the MCA50 "AMP"

If so, it would be incredibly difficult to compare the UMC to the AVM50v, they are certainly in different price brackets to be certain. The Anthem is roughly 6 times the price of the UMC....

Since you're in no real hurry to buy a pre/pro, you might want to wait and see what happens with the UMC-1 and the XMC-1 scheduled to be released either late this year or early next year. It probably wouldn't hurt to go ahead and put your name on the "pre-order" list for the XMC-1. There's no obligation to buy nor will you be chaged. If you decide you don't want it when they contact you to arrange for the payment and shipment, you don't need to place the order.

BTW- thanks for your service

May I ask what is the precise duty of your functions?

Regards,

Bob

Note: The Anthem MCA 50 Multichannel Power Amplifier retails for $2,499.
And the Anthem AVM 50v/ARC* Surround Processor retails for $5,499 ($500 less without ARC*).
* But you do want ARC (Anthem Room Correction). And yes indeed, it is a very nice piece of machinery, with the latest audio refinements and custom Gennum-based Video Processor.

Hi Dave, is there anywhere to compare the specs / features of the UMC-1 to the XMC-1?
I've checked their site and don't see where they mention the XMC.

EDIT: Are the model designations significant, is the 'X' superior to the 'U'?
Thanks,
Rick

Damn, 8 HDMI Inputs & 3 HDMI Outputs?

I think I'll buy it just for that.:D

Only 5 XPA-1? With Audyssey DSX, you'll need 11 of these puppies! :D
No, since I despise gimmicks like Room Corrections, EQs, Tones, DSPs, & 7.1, five XPA-1s will do just fine.:p:D:eek:

I would bypass all EQs & DSPs for sure!:D

Now is where I have to interdict.....

Maybe if you had a Room Correction worthy of using, you might be able to appreciate what they have to offer....

I have been running the ARC room correction for a little while now, I thought I could truly appreciate what it has introduced to my system..... But today is when I really got a grasp for how and why - while trying to find out how my subs were performing in my GIANT room, my buddy came over to run REW on my system, and we tested in a couple of LP's and though my subs are rolling off a touch early down low, which I know I will find the setting or reason why its doing so - we ran REW full range and found that it was flatter then any measurement I have ever seen to date..... and when I say flat - as soon as he saw that response his jaw dropped in astonishment.... as did mine... I have never seen anything like that - PERIOD. When he emails me the response curve you will see..... It was then when I could truly appreciate what a serious room correction implementation was capable of...

Anthem Logic - Music is another absolutely amazing addition as a sound matrix.... don't get me wrong, I have never been a big fan of matrixes - but when its right.... It can be right - but it depends on how its handled...

So far I am very, very very impressed with what Anthem and ARC brings to the plate...

LOL, not realizing that "interdict" was a word I looked it up. I don't think that word means what you think it means. Interject, while a common word, would have been just fine for the occasion. None the less, I am glad to have learned a new word. I am also very happy to have learned a new word that sounds humorous when spoken.

"INCONCEIVABLE"

"you keep using that word... but I don't think it means what you think it means."
