This weekend we had a party, lots of Sprecher Black Bavarian, and lots of very loud rock and r&b via 7 channel stereo at 0 dB. Needless to say, it wasn't critical listening! Well, I began to notice that one of my middies was "sounding funny" after about 4 hours

. It was thumping, making sounds no speaker should. I was too dr$%nk to safely get up there and check it out, so I unplugged it for the night.
The next morning, I soberly checked everything out. I reconnected to middies, turned the volume down and started up some music. Sounded fine at low to mid volumes. I knew I didn't blow them, wheeew (wipes sweat off of brow)! I then checked my OSD on the receiver and noted that my crossover was set to 60Hz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I set it back to 100 where I though it had been, and triple checked it before turning it off. I cranked some stuff up and it sounded great again!
So, I just wanted to say that these tiny little speakers with 4 inch woofers withstood 4+ hours of 60 HZ and up music and did not blow. I guarantee those "cubes" would have been toast!! Oh, and the HTD in ceilings didn't bat an eye even with the crossover set too low!
Hats off to HTD for making rock solid speakers!
