I just purchased and hooked up my SR706. I would like to hook up my iPod to the reciever, and know that it has an optional ipod dock you can buy. However, I see that the receiver has an aux option. I use the aux port in my car to hook up my ipod currently and that suits my needs fine.

The problem is that I see the button AUX but I do not know where the jack is for it. Can someone please advise?

You can use any of the analog inputs on the Onkyo. The Aux input is on the front so just get a 3.5mm Y to analog like this (link).

Hey Highlander,

I don't have any direct input for this thread, but I just wanted to tell you that I checked out your system pics, and your HT room is pretty sweet...good job! I have similar components and a room with an area rug over carpet, just like you have -- it's not a dedicated room, but it's in a step-down living room in our new house. Instead of a dedicated rack, my Blu-ray player and receiver are in a side cabinet of a wall unit. Instead of your big Onk, I have the TX-SR605. I too have the Oppo BDP-83.

But what intrigued me most about your setup is that you have the screen that drops down in front of the smaller display; this is something I am contemplating doing because the wife doesn't want a front projection system, but I need to get something bigger than our 50" Sony SXRD rear pro in this HT room without having to switch out the TV...so I was thinking of going the screen-over-the-screen route like you did. And your 80 or some inch screen size seems like it would be right for me, as well.
