Two Sony TV's One Room (Remote Problems)

I have 2 of the same model (Sony KDL55ex720).

The remotes are a pain in the butt because I try to change something on one and it changes it on both.

Any suggestions?

I bought a Harmony One (not hooked up yet) but, I'm still afraid that because it's the same signal - I will have the same problem.

Some manufacturers allow each device to be set to a unique ID but if you have a receiver in the mix typically it has to be of the same brand. You'd have to check the manual for the TV to see if it can be set to a particular ID and also the procedure to set that same ID on the remote.

If you cannot set an ID on the TV and remote then your only solution is an RF remote with assignable emitters (like a URC MX-350). With that solution you set up two different 'tv' devices (with the same commands because both TVs respond to the same IR protocol and code set) but tell the remote which emitter on the RF basestation is attached to which TV.

The URC MX-350 is a remote..right?

Wouldn't a Harmony One be able to do it?

I don't know if the Harmony One supports assignable emitters. There are many RF capable remotes that don't, even from URC.
