Slowly building a home theatre/jam station according to what I can find on sale online.System is as follows:pioneer VSX 1131 7.2 ch receiver
Polk Tsi 500 speakers for front
2 sets of Polk Monitor 40 Series 2 speakers(one set for speaker b,the other for surround)
2 Polk PSW 10 powered subs
5.1 ch used as receiver supports bi-amping at the cost of "rear" surround inputs. All of this was obtained new for around 800 dollar mark(Receiver discontinued model as well as Polk speakers,215 dollars new on Newegg).I realize that bi-amping is referring to separate amps not integrated like the reciever but I have a chance at getting another VSX 1131 new for 200 dollars.Would this be worth it to biamp properly(passively)and free up my surround back inputs w/o driving into the expensive world of pre amps, power amps and separate active crossovers?

No. Passive bi-amp is a total waste of money and time, especially for cheap systems.

Only way to get better sound is to get better speakers, subs, and systems, not bi-amp.

If you are happy with your system, leave it alone and don’t worry about bi-amp.

I have an older Kenwood receiver(it has optical and a few digital outputs but no hdmi)doing nothing. Is it worth it to use it in the system.Im afraid I'll probably never cross over into pro audio,I've got thousands of dollars in drones!I just wanted something kinda loud when I want it,some surround for movies, etc.
