Two receivers - one DVD (Oppo BDP-80)

I use different receivers for music vs TV. I have HDMI going from the Oppo DVD to Receiver 1 for movies/TV. Can I use the optical port on the Oppo to go to Receiver 2 for SACD music? I hooked it up and got no sound. I was just wondering if there's something that needs to be set in the menu or some other output that can achieve my goal.

Like blu-ray, sacd is copy protected, so you either have to use an hdmi out or 5.1 analog outs.

It isn't exactly copy protection; standard digital connections the way they are implemented in these devices cannot pass the signal. Sorry just noticed this was for the 80, not the 83, so no stereo analogs. Use the R&L from the multichannel outs and that should work.
