Good Day To All,

Planning to install in-wall speakers, Axion. Know that there is a stud in the wall in the middle of the display. So thinking of going with 2 center channel speakers, one on each side of the stud.

What wil sound better, hooking them up in series or in parallel.

I will be using a Pioneer 1019.

If hooking the center speakers (s) in series or parallel is not a good idea, what are the alternative, a seperate amp or amps for them?

Thanks in advance

I would reccomend only using a single center channel, this will ensure there are no comb filtering issues.

Glocks is correct, you will experience severe lobing issues with dual centers, best to go with one.

You can go with 2 center channel speakers if you are willing to do some alterations to the Xover

I have 2 Definitive technology CLR 2000 center channels. I wanted better dialog so I called Jeff at Sonic Craft speakers and he made up a kit that replaced most of the caps and Resistors in the crossovers. These parts were chosen to emphasize the frequencies where most dialog is located.

You can also purchase

Blackhole 5 which is a complex multi-layered system which addresses three key functions: cabinet damping, isolation, and absorption. Blackhole 5 attaches to the enclosure interior via extremely strong PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive). It will take the guess work out of tweaking your enclosure. You will spend more money (not to mention time) building enclosures with excessive bracing, disproportionately thick panels, and exotic materials just to approach the performance of Blackhole 5 in an inferior enclosure! Blackhole 5 is 1.375" thick, but it only displaces 0.250" of incompressible air. This product seems high priced at first, but trust me----it is worth every cent!

So after changing the Xover components and throwing away the fiberglass junk inside the speakers and adding the Blackhole 5 dampener my 2 center channels sound great and the dialog is much more discernible.

The cost was about $175/speaker which is a lot cheaper than buying new speakers!
