I will be seting up some new speakers next week or the week after deepens on shipment time after i order them Monday.

I have very little knowledge of speakers and subs IE my name.

I can afford 2 of the Rythmick lvr12 subs or buy a nice 15 inch sub from Rythmick or get 18 inch sub from PSA.

The thing is i don't think I will have the funds for a few years to buy a second sub if i get a 15 or 18 inch one.

My room is 20 x 25 so it needs help with base but i am not a base head just want enough base to blend in with the speakers good and still hear the roar of a engine from top gun or the days of thunder.

I am hoping that some one with a lot of experience in this can help me I can't afford return fees with some of these sub company's if i don't like the set up.

PSA , SVS and I am sure I am missing some do not charge return fees but SVS subs seem overpriced to me. I hear a lot of good things about Rythmick but they charge a return fee but the cost of LVR 12 is good for getting 2 subs wear i can't not find anything comparable or slightly better for the same cost that doesn't change a return fee.

You can't go wrong with Rythmiks, either the 15"s or the 12"s, but you will definitely want the ported versions. I would not consider the 18"s from PSA. If you want an 18, get a real 18", and the most affordable decent 18"s at the moment are from Reaction Audio. I would also be looking at the 15"s from Reaction Audio and Hsu Research for the most bang for the buck.

Why isn't the HTS18 a "real" 18? Just curious.

I don't know what the HTS18 is.
Oops, misread both the Op's post and yours. I thought we were talking about a different brand..........probably because I just came from a different thread talking about the brand I was thinking of. That's my signal to turn in. Cheers.

OK thank you all for the great info. Looks like 2 12 inch Rhythmic subs will be it. this combination lets me get some Ascend 340's LFC and some 170 for surround and let me stay with in my budget. the other option would be to get My pioneer center moded to sound better I got a email from from a guy offering to do this if it make the dialogue a great deal better then I will have a lot more to spend on subs.

I never thought of this may give it a shot before buying more speakers

As mentioned before, I used to have the 340's across the front. In the rear (5.2), I had the 170's. Found it to be a bit overkill imho. Unless YOU listen to multi-channel music I would opt for different rears myself. Of course, the 170's are on sale so getting the 200's is NOT going to save YOU much, if any, money.

Cheers,

Phil

The LV-12R is an excellent subwoofer for the money, so there's no downside to purchasing those. Same as the 18" PSA though, or an PSA for that matter; everything that company makes is high quality. Don't hesitate to look at those if you opt to change your mind about the Rythmik's.
