Twilight - too much for a 12 year old?

My 12 year old daughter really wants to see Twilight. She has been reading the book, but her 16 year old cousin thinks the movie might be too intense for her. Any other opinions out there?

She has seen some other PG-13 movies and is scared at the scary parts, but nothing too bad.

The only thing that I found intense about that movie was my sense of boredom.

I don't remember anything very scary about it, and I do not like scary movies. I won't watch horror flicks because my imagination gets the best of me. There wasn't a single part of that movie that made me scared. It's mostly a love story.

She should be okay, like Adam said its not really scary. I made it through, even my girlfriend was bored though. It's pretty much a love story, and its kinda teeny at that.

Intense you ask? I don't recall that being much of a concern. For example, the "fight scene" that was so heavily advertised was nothing more than a skirmish imho. However, I thought the movie was decent. Sure have seen much worse. Therefore, I think your daughter would be fine seeing it. Kudos to you for being such a protective parent!

It is very 'teen-ish'. It's not even a horror movie. My 11yr old watched it and I didn't see anything inappropriate. In fact, I was a little disappointed that they never even transformed into vampires at all. The vamps were essentially your garden variety school children with super strength and speed......LOL
