I was going to calibrate my samsung hpt 5064 according to the setting there pros have done, does anyone have any input about this site as i never heard of them?

with the variance in each display you will not get the optimum results for your set(also lighting conditions apply). The settings will likely help, so you can start there.

well I just set my television up to the recommended setting and it really made my display look like crap so I wont be going with there advice

The settings may vary depending on the display you have, most people do not like how they calibrate the tv's.
