Ive got the Sony DAV DZ 260 Surround sound and ps3, both connected to my Finlux 37" HD TV, via HDMI cable (and ps3 connected to surround sound via optical cable) this is all great, no problems here.

However...I wish to utilise the speakers for normal tv use, and when I'm using my pc through my tv (via hdmi).

I have tried so many ways to connect it all and so far failed at every single attempt, so I really am craving some help please!

All I have left for outputs from the tv is...2 scart sockets, what looks like 10 phono sockets ( it says sub out, LR, RR, LL, PR Y and PB) and i have 3 phono sockets on the side, the red yellow and white ones.

As for surround sound inputs...i have a digital coaxial! and a scart output left!

what do i need to do, any help would be most appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, coullj! I'm looking into this, but it was taking me a while, so I wanted to let you know that you're not being ignored. :) I'll let you know when I have some ideas.

The following is based off of the owner's manual for the DAV-DZ260 found on Sony's website. If I'm going off the wrong info, just let me know.

One of the downsides to the all-in-one surround sound systems is that their connectivity is generally (but not always) pretty limited. That's what you are running into on this.

A question for you: do you have an optical or coax digital audio output on your PC? If so, that could change the following recommendation, so just let us know.

The way that I see you being able to connect the audio from the TV to your system (given that your TV apparently doesn't have a digital audio output) is to use the red and white stereo audio outputs on the side. You would connect those to the minijack input on the front of the Sony surround sound unit using a converter cable (an example is linked here). That would only allow for stereo sound or matrixed surround sound (like Dolby Pro-Logic), but not full 5.1 surround sound like you would get from either a digital connection or a 5.1 analog connection. It would, however, almost surely sound better than running the sound through the TV speakers.
