As in sig, I have a 50" Pana plasma in my living room. I've run AviaII on it 3 times to try to make it as beautiful as possible. I think I did a decent job.

We sit <7ft from the TV eye-to-screen. Is it really too small? Sometimes I feel like it's too big, because short viewing sessions can make my eyes hurt. I also live a very computer-centric lifestyle so I have a feeling my eyes aren't in the best shape although I have perfect vision from 2" away from my face to very far away reading of street signs and such.

Or could it be my settings are no good?

I thought so too. Sometimes I think it might be too big. But it sure does look sweet. :D

As true AHer you shouldn't trust you subjective measurements done with your eyes. Even color filter included going to give you only rough estimation.
Maybe you'd want to consider getting decent sensor and run proper calibration or getting isf tech to do it for ya :)

Enjoy this w'end long reading:

That's the same distance we are from our 50". I think it's just right. But I won't go any bigger than that, from that distance.

Do you watch in a dark room, or is there some lighting on? Watching a bright screen (calibrated in brighter light?) in a very dark room might affect your eyes like that.

I'm about 7-8', with a 50" RPLCD and it works well for us, I do have a small light behind the set and when that, or a end table lamp is off, I do get eye strain quickly.

Thought about bigger, but I think I'd be wandering with my eyes to much and that would probably cause eye strain also.

To me, sounds like your just right.
