I have a new Samsung DLP, Denon 3806 receiver and Denon 2910 DVD player. The AV guy set up with HDMI from DVD player to TV and an optical cable from DVD player to receiver, then to TV. It all worked great until I started fiddling around try to get my Ipod working, which I finally did once I got it plugged into the right ports. However, shortly thereafter the DVD signals started blacking out temporarily and then the HDMI signal from the TV got weak to the point that when I punch 'source' on TV remote it doesn't come up as an option, thus DVDs won't play on TV but I can hear the audio portion thru the surround sound speakers. I thought it was a bad HDMI cable and bought a new one and that didn't work either, nor did a standard AV red & white cable direct from DVD to TV. All the equipment is brand new so I don't know what is wrong but think it must be in the configuration. My only theory is that when I fiddle with settings on receiver I can see the codes come up on the TV in "AVI" source when I should be getting a DVD signal. Could it be caused by a dominant AVI signal coming from the 3806 so that it can't come from the DVD player? But would this explain why both the HDMI and AVI signal don't come in from the DVD player? Maybe issue is with TV??? pls help if you have any ideas, and thanks in advance!
