TV, Home cinema and Virgin Box

Hi,

Wondering if someone can help me out here please.

I am sorting out my living room and have a Sony TV and Home Cinema 5.1 Sound kit as well as a Virgin set to box. I need to figure out the best way to connect this up so they all work well together. Having done some research It seems like I use the HDMI cable from TV to Sound Amp via the HDMI ARC port. Then the Virgin box to TV via any HDMI port.

Is that the way to connect them correctly? or is there a better way? Also I want the 5.1 Surround sound so do I need to configure anything and if so what? As I watch most of my telly through the Virgin Box should there be a connection between virgin box and the Sony Amp?

Would really appreciate some advice on this? Anyone who can help I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Sat

ARC only supports 2 channel.

Connect everything to the receiver by HDMI and one cable from receiver to TV.

I have no idea what that Home Cinema 5.1 kit is. If it does not have HDMI inputs, and the DTS and Dolby codecs it needs to go.
