TV green after close encounter with speaker

So, the shelf holding my center channel speaker ripped out of my wall. This resulted in my speaker landing directly on top of my samsung CRT TV. The result was an immediate distortion of the color (mostly green). As far as I can tell there is no manual degauss. I have turned it on/off a few times which help a little but the picture is still very green. Any ideas?

I have noticed that when I play things through my ps3/HDMI the color seems normal whereas the cable/component is totally messed.

I'm not completely sure, but I think all you can do is buy a degausser or pay a professional to take care of things..

Failing that, now you have an excuse for a new TV?

Time for a new tv.

Stupid question - Did you make sure the component cables are still plugged in properly? The bump may have loosened one or two of them.

I have seen very nice CRT televisions at thrift stores for like $10-50. Craigslist also has a ton of them. Don't repair the one you have.

I would give you my old 27" but shipping is probably crazy.

Reminds me I need to list it on CL. I don't want to move it myself.:)

Solved! I had of course checked to make sure they were all plugged in. But upon further inspection the prong to the red cable had snapped off inside the TV so while it looked plugged in nothing was happening. Thanks all!

Glad you fixed your issues. Now put that one in another room and buy a plasma......:D

Glad it was only the cable. Of course you can still buy a new TV.
