 Please help!

Should I be concern about running my TV cable and speaker wires next or near ceiling light fixtures. Is there any fire safty rule that I should follow.
I have notice when I run my TV cable next to light fixtures, my tv has a number of sptripes moving from bottom to top.

Is there anything I can do to protect my cables\wires?

Thanks!

It is always a good idea to stay at least 1 foot away from power lines (don't run parallel, and if they need to cross at 90 degrees)...the lines in your TV is caused by interference from the power lines...time to move the TV and speaker lines. Good Luck :D

Looking for solution to insulate tv cable from power lines.

Thanks for your help; I will take this into consideration.

But I am limited on my options, I can move those cables a little, but no more them few inches.
Is there anyway to insulate them from those power lines, "put a foil paper around, may be add additional wall in between". I just finish painting my walls and I hate to break them again to move the cables to another place.

Just another thing; is it very bad that my speaker wires and tv cable run in parallel, one next to another?

It is easier to add a wall then move wires?? Move them as far as you can and you could insulate them with... pipe insulation? Some one else might have a better idea. It is OK to run the TV and speaker line together, no problems there.

Insulating TV cables.

What type of pipe should I use?

By wall I meant a separator between power lines and cables, I have access to that area through spot light opening, will this help?

Perhaps you could try using Quad-shielded RG-6 coax cable to combat the interference you are getting in your cable.
