Turntable problems, I think

Hi All, I have a relatively new (1 1/2 years old) AT-LP120 turntable connected to an old ONYX TX-8255 receiver. My turntable worked fine last night but I'm getting no sound this morning. The CD and radio functions play fine through the receiver. And the turntable isn't dead. The lights come on the the turntable spins but ... no sound. I have checked all the power cables and tried the turntable with the pre-amp on and then off. (The ONYX has a built in pre-amp.) I have tried turning on the turntable's pre-amp and routing the turntable through another input (line 2). But nothing. It all worked fine about 15 hours ago so I'm a little perplexed. As receiver works fine with other inputs (cd, radio) I'm preusming the problem is with the turntable but it's also the newest component, only a year and a half old. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks! Richard

Turntable operates but emits no sound or not enough sound.
1.
The stylus guard is still in place. Remove the stylus guard.
2.
The tone arm is in the lift position. Lower the tone arm.
3.
Mixer/amplifier (system) controls are set incorrectly: wrong input
selected, tape monitor on, speakers switched off, etc. Verify
proper control settings.
4.
Stylus is broken or missing. Check the stylus assembly and
replace if necessary.
5.
The stylus assembly may not be fully seated in the cartridge body.
Check the cartridge and adjust if necessary.
6.
The pre-amp selector switch is set in the wrong position. Verify
that it is set for proper output to match mixer/amplifier.
- No sound/very weak sound: Phono Out setting into an
Aux/Line input.
- Very loud/distorted sound: Line Out setting into a
Phono input.
