From looking at the pictures, it would appear that the wires may not even be connected to anything, they just go straight through. However judging from the label on the face of the device, this will serve the purpose of swapping your left and right channels.

I asked that same question... and the answer is "The wires are connected in such a way that this device becomes a very expensive doorstop "
