I have been reading about tuning your Home Theater System with the Avia HT Tune Up DVD and a Radio Shack Sound Level Meter. I tried tuning the speakers and the sub but I am not sure if I am doing it right. It sounds great, but have I optimized it and could it sound greater?
I used the Test Tone in the receiver and matched tones at 85 dB. The sub is roughly the same level.
The DVD directs you to do the same effort but with its test tone. Also there are other tone tests. How important are these? And where can I find more specific instruction on how to use the Avia HT Tune Up DVD?
I am claiming ignorance due to lack of experience with HT Tuning. I have not really developed a feel for it since I don't know what the maximum capability of my system is in a perfectly tuned state.
