Has anyone heard or purchased one of the above from TSW? They have reduced the price by $100 and appears to be a pretty decent deal at $199. Your opinions and thoughts would be appreciated.

From the specs, it doesn't seem that great to me, unless you're looking for something attractive or something that's in a small package. For just a tad over $200 you can get a PA-120 or a Dayton Elite ES10 (Hsu design).

I have a TSC ASW-10, though, and for the price they sell them for I think it's a very good deal.

I don't think it's a great investment. Save your money and bide your time for something really good.

Don't knock it till you've tried it. :)

In my experience TSC's subs are not their strong point, but I wound't completely discount this sub after hearing my buddies setup from TSC which was not bad.

Don't want to hijack, but do you know what TSC setups your buddies have? I'm really considering the P series 6.1, and selling off my Infinity Beta 20s. The Beta 20s are just too expensive now for me to get 5 of them.

Are you sure. Tiger Direct has them for 129.00 a pair. Not sure if you can get much cheaper than that. The P series would be a severe step down in quality.

I have the ASW-8, and it works almost perfectly for me. Very limited at SPL's above 95 though. And it doesn't work well for me when I set the crossover above 80 Hz.

But- my house is not forgiving towards bass much below about 35 Hz, I don't listen much above 90 Db's and I just needed to extend the lower octave of my speakers. the ASW-8 works fine.

What it boils down to is your situation...

1) Why do you need a sub?
2) What are your listening habits?
3) How large of a room?
4) Shape of room?
5) What are your mains?
5) Any WAF issues?

these and other questions, once answered, can help ster you in the right direction.

I can say that the TSC subs are fine products. Not state-of the-art by any means, but they seem to work as advertised.
