TSC ASW10 vs Dual or BIC

Hi newbie here

My Energy ELX-8 sub that came with my Take5 set up died a couple of weeks ago so I need to replace it ASAP.I'm on a very tight budget and I live in a relatively small apt.The living room is about 11.5' x 16.5' and of course I have to be somewhat sensitive to my neighbors below and next to me.My first choice was to try and find a used Energy sub on Ebay but while doing a bit of research I stumbled across the TSC subs. The pricing is perfect for me and all the reviews I've read have been great. My first idea was to just go with the ASW-8.This model is on sale for $80 shipped. It's very similar to my currant sub but would probably be a bit of an upgrade. But the ASW-10 is only $20 more and would certainly be a much better upgrade for the price difference. My only concern with the TSC subs is that they are down-firing and that could be a bit of an issue living in an apt.But I try to keep the volume at a reasonable level so I haven't had any problems so far.

I was just about ready to pull the trigger on a ASW-10 when I came cross a couple of other subs that are in my price range and seem to have pretty good reviews. They're by BIC and Dual and the models are as follows:

BIC V80 8"
BIC V1020 10"
Dual L8SW 8"
Dual L10SW 10"

Has anyone here had any hands on experience with any of these models? I know there has been good things said about the TSC subs here.In any event I want to take advantage of the TSC sale prices before they are gone so I would greatly appreciate any comments or input on the above mentioned models.

Thanks

As an owner of the ASW - 10 it is a very good sub for its asking price. It's clean sounding with good output. Plus if you don't like it you can return it on TSC's dime. Absolutley no risk involved here.

I was watching the TSC site over the past week or so - as I thought I was getting ready for a purchase. However, their ASW-10 jumped up to $149 from the $99 sale price.

The ASW-10 is still a deal at it's 149 asking price.
