Trying to hook up old system into my tv

Hello, I'm newbie and I am trying to get my old, not working, home theater any use at all. I have a not working Philips HTS 3450 Home Theater.

This guy works with a 15 pin D-SUB (5 over 5 over 5) hookup from the receiver to the subwoofer and in the woofer there're the rest of the speakers connected to it. The receiver doesn't make any sound and I can't fix it. So I've decided to try something different trying to connect it with the TV directly. What I'm asking here if there's a way in order to do so; please guys, my LG TV sounds is horrible and it sounds like it's going to blow if I turn the volume up.

Note: I'd love to post some pictures to you see it but I couldn't. PLEASE google it if you don't know this hardware.

Not to be the bearer of sad tidings but I really don't see how you would do this.

Those speakers were made to be connected to the receiver and the TV connects to it as well.

The receiver is the central component, not the speakers or the TV. They are both connected as outputs to the receiver.

Sorry, you need to start over. That system needs to go to the recycling center.

Your cheapest solution is a sound bar. Avoid HTIBs in future. They are junk. If you don't want a sound bar then you need to assemble a component system.
