Trying to decide between these two HT Receivers...

Just curious if anyone has an opinion on this....I have two receivers and am looking to keep only one. Although they are both HT, I am only looking to listen to musc through it, not surround sound. I have the Yamaha DSP-A2070, and the Yamaha RX-V995. It will be powering 4 sets

The DSP is much heavier and made in Japan but the RX has the ability to hook up a & b speakers. I have a speaker switch box, but would still like to have a&b for 2 sets of stereo speakers, but haven't figured out how to do this on the DSP-A2070.

Any opinions on which of these is superior for listening to music only, and if its the DSP-A2070, then any ideas how to get two sets of stereo speakers simultaneousley? Thanks

You mean you want 4 pairs of L/R speaker channels...in the same room or one pair in each room? Or just four speakers total in two sets? Running A+B speakers could create impedance issues...what speakers exactly are you thinking about?

I want four pair of left right speakers in the same room. I currently have a pair of Cerwin Vega D7’s, RSL 3600s, technics SB-x700s, and Miller kreisel s1b’s. I don’t have really high-end gear like most people here do. Currently I have a Niles Audio switch box that accommodates four pairs of speakers. I had been using a receiver that could accommodate three sets of speakers, so I hooked up a set to A, and the switch box to C, with 3 sets attached to the switch box, because one side wasn’t working on the B speakers. So now I have these two receivers, and I can hook up the switch box to the Main of the DSP-a2070, and just use all 4 from there, or I can set up like before with A and B from the Rx-v995. I like the setup better that way but in the end it’s less about the speakers and more about the quality of sound between the two. I’m sure the v995 is probably better for HT, but I’m not using it for that. Thoughts?

I can't imagine using four sets of 2ch speakers in the same room. This is for simultaneous play? Or just playing a particular pair at a given time? A 9 ch receiver could do all simultaneously in muti-ch stereo mode, but individually a receiver isn't the best way to go. Maybe something like a multi-ch integrated amp would be better (try hometheaterdirect.com, believe they have a couple such solutions).

Simultaneous or a particular pair? Both actually : ) The DSP-A2070 doesn'y seem to have all channel stero mode, unless "effects off" plays sound through whatever is hokedup to it. I dont think it does, but will look and see.
