This is a common occurance.
This is not a "for sale" site that has selling as it's main focus and simply offers discussion forums as an aside. For that, you might want to explore ebay, craigslist, audiogon and various others.
This is, first and foremost, a discussion forum with a thriving long-term community of that offers a chance for the community (or a dysfunctional family) a chance to sell to each other.
To put it simply, you must have a few good-faith posts under your belt before they extend to you the privilege to sell to the members here. I'm not sure of the number. Even then, it's not guaranteed.
But, to be perfectly honest, to try to post items for sale before even bothering to make one post as a contributing member of the community doesn't really instill confidence that you'll still be here in the morning.
